NU-TEC Incorporated

Wood Stove and Coal Stove Design

He established NU-TEC Incorporated in 1982, specializing in cast-iron hearth products. The first products were Catalytic Retrofits for wood stoves.

NU-TEC acquired the AMITY ® and UPLAND ® brands in the late 1980's. Product development emphasis was on clean burning technologies and superior fire view

Master furniture designer and maker, Jeffrey Greene of Newport, RI was chartered with providing 1800 century body designs that would incorporate the modern technologies. (http://www.theballandclaw.com/available.htm)

NU-TEC collaborated with Plamen Foundry in Yugoslavia to build furniture quality, clean burning, porcelain enameled stoves.

Unfortunately, the Yugoslavian War in the early 1990's all but destroyed this business. (The wood stoves produced during these years still meet the present EPA standards.)

Operations were moved to mainland China in 1994. Rather than attempting to reestablish the NU-TEC brand, emphasis turned to making cast-iron stove bodies for major fireplace companies such as Heat-N-Glo, Buck Stove, Comfort Glow and Vanguard International.

NU-TEC has an extensive portfolio of designs available to fireplace manufacturers.
